During a physical therapy evaluation, I will get a good birth and medical history from the caregiver. Then, I will take a look at the child through observation and hands-on examination. I will look at things like reflexes, tone, muscle strength, gross motor milestones, coordination, and range of motion. Once the evaluation is over, we will talk about the best course of action including PT frequency, goals, and a home program that caregivers can implement during PT sessions. I am always available by text or call when parents have questions.
Hi! I am a licensed physical therapist who graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Elon University. I have experience treating children in the NICU, PICU, acute care, outpatient, and aquatic settings. I am employed by Everyday Kids and I treat children aged 0-21 years old in their natural environment throughout Durham, Orange, Alamance and surrounding counties. She is a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy. I believe that evidence based practice combined with collaborative care between the family, physician, and the therapist will encourage children to reach their highest potential.
